The Farm
Morgan Creek Farms is a small, sustainable meat and vegetable farm in Quakertown, PA. 3rd generation husband-and-wife duo, Adam and Steph, co-own and operate the farm, producing organically grown vegetables and pasture raised heritage pork. MCF strives to provide its local community with access to quality food, and to provide an alternative to the large scale, commercially produced products found in the big box stores.

What We Do
We run a farrow-to-finish (birth-to-butcher) pastured hog operation and grow mixed vegetables seasonally. We offer a wide variety of pork products, as well as vegetables (in season) and a 22-week vegetable CSA program. We open our farm store to the public weekly from June-November, and by appointment year-round. Morgan Creek Farms also serves as a wedding and event venue situated on a beautiful, secluded 60 acres of forests and farmland.
All livestock are raised on pasture year-round, and cared for with high standards for animal welfare. All breeding stock live on-site and all breeding occurs naturally. Only a custom blend of organic, non-GMO grains are fed, and no antibiotics, growth hormones, or any other synthetic treatments are administered, unless a life is at risk otherwise. We offer a range of products from various retail meat products, to ½ and whole hogs and live piglets when available.
Our vegetable operation primarily serves our CSA program, a seasonal 22-week subscription to the farm. We also offer retail sales of vegetables throughout the growing season. All vegetables are grown organically, without chemical pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers on a ¾ acre. We employ crop rotation and cover cropping practices to help manage pest and disease pressures, and to continue building healthier soil.
We also offer the farm property as a venue for weddings and events. An idyllic property, isolated from all the hustle and bustle but conveniently located just 45 minutes from Philadelphia and 1 ½ hours from New York City, that offers both indoor and outdoor space for activity. The 18th-century stone bank barn holds an indoor stage with gathering and dining space, as well as an outdoor stage. Cool off by the pond, say hi to the piggies, and explore a network of walking trails that weave along Morgan Creek and cut through established hickory groves. Several beautiful options for your ceremony site are available—maybe a treehouse in an enchanted forest is your vibe?
Who We Are
Steph and Adam are deeply passionate about honoring her family’s farm, by preserving it, improving it, and sharing and enjoying it with others through a variety of avenues. They also love farming and good food, so why not do it all in the same place?
The couple met in 2009 working as adventure guides living in Vermont, while still attending college. Steph graduated from the University of Vermont with a BA in Anthropology in 2010, and Adam from Lyndon State College with a BA in TV Broadcast Design and Production in 2011. They loved Vermont, and spent much of their time outdoors either rock climbing, backpacking, or snowboarding. The farm was calling them, though, so Adam and Steph moved to Quakertown, PA in 2013.
While Steph was born and raised in Washington, DC, she also grew up visiting her grandmother Helene at the farm frequently, and experiencing where her dad was raised. Upon moving to Bucks County, Adam was hired locally as a news photojournalist. Steph was still on her journey to find her career, and in 2014 began volunteering at an organic farm with their vegetable team. Within weeks she got hired at the farm, and within months was also working with the livestock team. She had no idea this was the career in store for her, but she fell in love immediately and never turned back! For nine years, Steph worked for and managed other organic farms, during which time she found her passion for growing vegetables and raising pigs. She began running Morgan Creek Farms full-time, and started a vegetable operation in 2023. Adam still works full-time as the Production Manager for a major television broadcasting company, and helps with farm operations in his “free” time.
Steph and Adam’s pet pig Xena came to the farm in 2016, and her arrival marks the commencement of what we now call Morgan Creek Farms. Xena was the first pig Steph ever worked with, and who showed her how amazing pigs can be. When she was being retired from her previous farm, Steph and Adam decided to adopt her as a pet to live a happy life on the farm. She was the first pig to ever live on the farm. She established herself as the grandma in our herd, and was often called “Mama”, because that’s how caring she was any time she interacted with the other pigs (even the piglets!). She even adopted a few chickens who lived in her pasture and slept in her shelter every night. She would make the sweetest, happiest grunts any time Adam or Steph would go in her pasture, just to let them know how happy she was to see them. Some of her favorite things were face scratches, belly rubs, and cake (especially with lots of icing). Xena passed away peacefully on the farm on August 1, 2024, just shy of her 15th birthday. Her spirit will live on here forever!

Why We Do It
Sustainability, community, health (mental and physical!), and wholesomeness are at the core of our values, and are what drives all that we do.
Steph has always had a love for pigs, even as a young girl growing up in Washington, DC, yet has recognized the major downfalls of the conventional hog industry. We value our animals deeply, and treat them accordingly by building strong relationships with them, which allows them to live a stress-free, happy, and healthy life. By raising them on pasture, the animals not only have the ability to roam and dig and live free of confinement, they also acquire additional vitamins and minerals from the pastureland and the sun; in turn, the land is replenished by the manure and the activity of the animals living on it. In 2020 we built a birthing barn, providing an insulated space for birthing year-round with access to pasture. We do not use farrowing crates, allowing the mothers to move freely and interact with their piglets. We are proud to say that this space has allowed us to wean 100% of the live piglets that are born here!
In all of our growing practices—livestock, vegetables, and landscaping—sustainability is at the forefront. For decades, the farm fields were poorly farmed, which greatly deteriorated the health of the soil. We continually work to rebuild what was lost, and improve it even further—we have come a long way in the 10 years since Adam and Steph took on the farm! We feel that good, nutritious food is a key ingredient to a healthy mind and body, and a healthy community. We also believe that small-scale farming is an important part of the solution to the greater issues of poor access to good-quality food, and the detrimental effects of large-scale conventional farming practices. We strive to provide the highest quality food that is also accessible, directly to our local community. Finally, we value the land and earth as part of our community, and treat it with the same care and attention as we do our animals and vegetables.
There are not many farms or spaces quite like this one around anymore, and we love to share it with others! Adam and Steph held their own wedding here in 2017, an annual music festival since 2014, and hosted other weddings and events on the property as well.
